AAI09  Darwin’s Legacy - Burbank, California  

AAI09 was held in Burbank, California,  to accommodate Bill Maher, this year’s recipient of AAI’s ‘Richard Dawkins Award’. Maher was honoured for the movie mocumentary, Religulous.

Real Time, October 2^nd ,  had Dawkins as a guest panelist and after the show  taping he and Maher came to the convention centre for the award presentation.  This was one of the highlights of the weekend. (Why didn't the audience of atheists laugh at pope jokes?)

Darwin’s Legacy was an appropriate theme for the 2009 convention in recognition of the 150^th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species.

Lawrence Krauss, Carolyn Porco and Dan Dennett. After the banquet on Saturday evening Dawkins read from The Greatest Show on Earth, The Evidence for Evolution.
