Machu Picchu survived the Spanish Inquisition thanks to its being uniquely situated high in the Andean cloud forest. The location is below the other magical Incan city Cusco. Only when the clouds dissipate is it possible to get a glimpse of the wondrous site. It is believed that the Inca built the city as a ceremonial site to the directions. The Inca were expert architects, engineers and city planners among other things.

As fragments of Peru’s pre Columbian civilization are found survivors are slowly reclaiming and rebuilding their past. It is no longer illegal to speak a tribal language or for a shaman to perform rituals openly.

Coca is an essential part of the Andean culture and the people must never be degraded for using and celebrating the divine herb.

It is immoral to rob cultures of  memories and history.
